Worldwide fast-food network leverages official App reach by offering WiFi

Burger King is a worldwide fast-food chain that operates over 800 restaurants in Brazil. For 2019, a strategic goal was set for the launch of 65 new restaurants and a 32% increase in revenues from digital operations. For this, it counted on the decisive support of Zoox.



In addition to providing customers with fast and secure internet, Zoox was challenged to design an experience that necessarily involved downloading the official BK app from their mobile phones. The flow developed was as follows:

Upon checkout, the customer receives the instructions and the access code on the invoice. To use them, the customer must download the official Burger King app and register. After registration, the user is entitled to 30 minutes of free connection. Each code can be used only once.




This flow ensured a significant increase in app download metrics, making it one of the most downloaded in the industry. Through it, customers receive promotions, discount coupons, and announcements. In two months, there were more than 871 thousand connections, from 285 thousand individual users.
